A Friend's Ride Donate: Online | Wall of Love
| Contact RideForMike.com exists to help me keep a commitment that I made to remember my friend Michael T. McCaskill by joining one event each year for the purpose of raising money for the fight against cancer. Over the last two years this site has helped raise over $8000 toward that goal. This year the goal is $5000 as I once again participate in the Challenge to Conquer Cancer ride. In 2008 I participated in the 1400 mile relay ride from Greenville, SC to Austin, TX. Along the way we encourged others who were in their personal battle against cancer and grew more determined to join the fight. I learned that this ride - and fighting cancer - isn't just about the money. It is more about the people who live it every day.
This year RideForMike.com is featuring the Wall of Love. This is a Web page with images representing 500 magnetic stickers that will adorn our support vehicles on the way to Austin (see the video below for an example). For every $10 donated to the cause I will fill in the slot in honor of a cancer survivor or warrior - or memoralize someone whose battle is done. When we leave for Austin in October, those names will be transferred to the magnetic placards and placed on our vehicles. Please consider taking part. Thank you.
